my first MAGAZINE!

my target was to create a school/collage magazine for a place of learning and the target audiance was the student that was thinking of applying to the school. my insperation came from a posters of male perfume bottles, so i decided i woulod make that kind of look but i take away a lot of the suductive side. for my magazine, the model looked profesinal and busniess like, he also looked very serious and determened. base don all these things i created my magazine i used blue to make it calm as i reacheared that blue is a very calming colour and it suthes the raeder i also used white as it is a nutrual colour and these colours give the expresion that the school is very calm and a good enviroment to do solid work. i made the headteacher the main attraction as he is the head of the school and he would have all the infomation on what goes on in his school the second picture of money is very important as this is a finance and busniess collage where being the best is a MUST. this college is all about being the best you can be and tio succeed in life. the feed back i got from it when i asked perents they said that its very good and very profesinal and that they would send there child there as it looks like a very high achiving and succssful college. however the students i asked said that it looks to serious and that they would not be able to achive to the best of their ability as it seems too seriouse and that they would prefer that the school was a little more fun and exiting.

they commented on the front saying that it looks very professinal but the main consern was that it was to serious.     

what am i looking for in the mag?

i created the magazine and made it sutible for me as i know what i would like in a magazine. as a teenage boy in london i listen to a lot of hip hop and RnB so i reachead outto people like me, i would be part of my target audiance. i want my magazine to be entertaining vibrent and expireing to all but the target i want it to hit are teenagers who listened to old school hip hop and also new school hip hop for example like: biggie smalls, N.W.A, ice cube, warren G, 2pac, fat joeand other influwentual people that expiered a whole new generation of artist, these are the kind of things id like to include in my magazine.
i reseachead 3 big selling magazines VIBE, the source and XXL all these magazines are focused on hip hop and all of them are big sellers however they are all expenisive and most teenagers dont have that kind of money to spend so i would want my magazine to be cheaper but yet as powerful and fun to read.
out of the 3 magazines XXL is my favourite.

the needs of my reader?

the infomation my magazine must have about my artist is, all the things he likes and dislikes also the newest fashion and music he/she is producing and the latest rivalries he is having to face because of his/her fame. this would give the audiance a bigger insight into the life of my artist and will help them conect with them.
beacuse my target audiance are teenagers that listen to hip hop and RnB the hip hop magazine is going to have alot of that culrtual identety in it do the reade rcan conect with it on an higher level as my artist had nothing but beacuse of his/her talent they have made something out of there life, i hope this would incourage people to do what they want and always strive for the best.
the music magazine creates a bubble for the reader, somewhere where the reader can relax and find out about new songs and the newst fashion so they have somewhere to belong to like a movement or start a NEW ERA (thats where the name came from).
the magazine provides the reader with the newst songs gossip about the hip hop comunity newst videos exclusive interviews with big names and a questionare at the back of the magazine about genarl questions about hip hop and RnB.
the magazine creates escapsim for the reader by giving the reader an out look of a person that they admire and expire to become. also for the time my reader reades the magazine he/she will be in the artist world find out all the things they like and get to know them better and it is this that i think creates the illustion of escapsim in my magazine as the reader will not have to think about there own worries.

my ideal reader

My ideal reader would range form 17-26. I am trying to target a young audience with urban roots who are aware of the newest fashion, music, dance’s and urban gossip of America and the UK. My ideal reader would  most likely be involved in and be highly interested in Hip-Hop and RnB and also old school music. They would also have a knowledge of old school legends such as 2pac, B.I.G, Nas, Big pun, Fat joe, N.W.A, ice cube and other inspiring artist that have succeeded in the rap industry.

My ideal audience is most likely to be a student in secondary/high school or universities. This magazine can also appeal to younger audience members  as it will have new artist and knew fashion and dance trends, however they would not be too interested in all of the things in the magazine. This magazine would also help and encourage youngsters to belive in them selfs and achive there goals.    

My magazine can also be suitable for the older audience as they could compare artist and be up to date.
